our new blog

chiz and i will now be posting about our adventures from this new spot.

we are about to leave japan on our next big journey together! it’s exciting, but also quite chaotic with the big move coming up. in between organizing, packing and just running around like a headless chicken, we have been trying to enjoy all the things about japan we will miss… there are so many things we will miss, but one of the biggest has to be the food!

we love all types of cuisines, but there is really something special about japanese food. the way it’s prepared and presented is a high art! the simple beauty of japanese cuisine makes us wonder if we should eat it or take a picture of it – of course we do both.  also, while many other cuisines make us feel guilty after eating it, because it’s so rich and fatty… japanese food is usually quite healthy!

most japanese people can’t eat sushi everyday – but i can! since i’ve been living in japan, my daily consumption of fish has skyrocketed! in all honesty, i eat sushi or sashimi for at least one meal about 5 times a week. during many weeks i eat sushi once a day… i just don’t get tired of it. so my diet will definitely change when we move to australia. my hope is that chiz and i don’t get fat in australia!

since we will be missing japanese cuisine, we have been trying to eat lots of it before we leave. the other night, chiz took me to an amazing sushi restaurant that she loves – midori zushi. it was magical! i had sushi i’ve never eaten before, and others that were just prepared better than what i was used to! the picts are below, so you can see what you missed and what we will be missing when we leave!
